Regulations of Passenger Transport Services Overview

The Regulation of Passenger Transport Services division is responsible for the preparation of the District Integrated Transport Plan (DITP), for the Cape Winelands District Municipality; in terms of section 36 of the National Land Transport Act, Act 5 of 2009 which requires that all Planning Authorities must prepare an Integrated Transport Plan (ITP) for a 5-year period.
OBJECTIVES OF THE DIVISION
The objectives of Regulation of Passenger Transport Services are functionally aligned to those of the Cape Winelands IDP Strategic Objectives:
- To increase levels of mobility in the whole of the CWDM area
- to promote the use of public transport;
- to encourage land usage which is integrated with the public transport system;
- to improve safety and personal security on public transport services as well as infrastructure;
