The Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) wishes to inform residents of Drakenstein that the Nieuwe Drift Fire Station in Paarl is currently closed to allow for renovations to be undertaken at the facility.
Until suitable alternative accommodation can be secured in the Drakenstein area, CWDM Fire Services will respond to incidents in the area from the Stellenbosch Fire Station during the renovation period.
To further support fire response efforts, a mutual agreement is currently in place with Drakenstein Municipality’s Fire Services in the event of veld fires in the area.
The current estimated completion date is 15 October 2027.
Please report a veld fire to 021 887 4446 or to your nearest authority.
