Dirk Swart is the MMC for Sport, Arts and Culture at Cape Winelands District Municipality. In his younger days he played amateur rugby. Sports and cultural events play an important role in our communities. It brings together people from different backgrounds. Young people involved in sport have a positive outlook on life. Sport and cultural events help to motivate the already dysfunctional society. Sport and culture are a very holistic way to improve people’s lives.
