Global Recycling Day Celebrated at Bonnievale Primary School
CWDM’s Municipal Health Services spearheaded a celebration of Global Recycling Day at Bonnievale Primary School on Monday, March 18, 2024. The event aimed to underscore the importance of recycling and its profound positive impact on the environment, fostering a more sustainable future for our planet and forthcoming generations.
The event featured schools from the neighboring areas, all coming together for a friendly recycling competition that showcased creativity and environmental awareness. Participants were tasked with crafting outfits entirely from recycled materials, promoting ingenuity and resourcefulness in waste reduction. The participating schools included Ashbury Primary School, W. A Rossouw Primary School, McGregor Primary School, Laerskool De Villiers, Laerskool Dagbreek, and the host school, Bonnievale Primary School.
A Rossouw Primary School secured an outstanding 2nd runner-up, while Ashbury Primary School claimed the 1st runner up. Ultimately, the triumphant winner of the Global Recycle Day competition was Bonnievale Primary School.
The event served as a testament to the power of collective action in addressing environmental challenges, with each participating school contributing to a shared vision of a greener, more sustainable world.
