In anticipation of the upcoming World Aids Day on 1 December, the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness, in partnership with the Cape Winelands District Municipality, celebrated the progress of 150 patients with chronic conditions such as HIV/Aids. These patients were recognised during a formal programme that included talks by other partners, such as Drakenstein Municipality, SAPS and NorSA, and featured the launch of the 2024 World Aids Day posters designed by the CWDM. These posters were distributed throughout the district.
Healthcare stations were set up to provide HIV testing and counselling, TB screening and testing, family planning services, and more.
Intergovernmental partnerships such as these strengthen efforts to prevent HIV/Aids and support patients and their families.
