MUNICIPAL MANAGER
Henry Prins is a committed and experienced local government practitioner with 30 years of experience in the management of municipalities in South Africa and has held the position of Municipal Manager, in various municipalities since 2009.
Henry’s experience in local government covers involvement in projects focused on the transformation of the local government sector, where he served as secretary to the Overberg District Transformation Forum (DTF) in 2000. This experience has earned him hands-on experience in the re-structuring of local government.
Along with a commitment to ethical leadership values, his focus is on developing human capital to support sustainable results, financial excellence and institutional growth that enables public service delivery. Henry has an interest in growing local economic development through the establishment of sound partnerships and collaboration.
His experience spans diverse disciplines providing him with the skills necessary for strategic leadership in complex environments.
Achievements and Education:
Fifteen (15) consecutive clean audits (unqualified audit opinion with no material findings) as a Municipal Manager/Accounting Officer over two (2) municipalities.
Henry holds a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Stellenbosch. Furthermore, Henry is registered as a Professional Municipal Manager with the Institute of Local Government Management (ILGM) .
