Categories
Agriculture
This category considers nominees who, through their agricultural activities, contribute to economic upliftment and skills development, and the establishment of an environment that supports food security for all.
Early childhood development
This category is specific to early childhood development in the education sector, where the nominee focuses on the essential and critical stage of early education.
Basic education
This category is specific to development in the area of primary and secondary education where social issues and self-awareness can help determine young people's success.
NGO/CDW sector
This category considers women who not only help other non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community development workers (CDW) through their work, but continue to serve their communities beyond the scope of their services.
Entrepreneurs
This category celebrates women who started their own businesses due to the need to earn an income, or identified the needs of others. These businesses create jobs and uplift the community through training and other charitable activities.
Support
This category celebrates women who offer support to others, enabling those they assist to become the best versions of themselves and to uplift their social economic circumstances, as well as those of others. This includes women who work within their communities, help manage households so that parents can go to work, or assist in businesses by sharing their unique commitment and care.
Management
This category honours women in roles of authority. As managers, they not only excelled in further studies, but expanded enterprises, strengthened job security and created more opportunities.
Passion
This category highlights women who, without extra financial help and with full-time commitments, are still focused on improving the lives of others.
Promoting Afrikaans/multilingualism
This category celebrates women who promote Afrikaans/multilingualism, eg through drama, music, commerce, academia and literature, also on grassroots level by for instance giving language lessons.
Disabilities
This category honours the extraordinary achievements, strength and resilience of women living with disabilities. These women have overcome significant challenges and made remarkable contributions in various fields eg the arts, education, sports, advocacy or community service.
Rules
- No panel member or employee of the ATM, CWDM or Historium Trust or their immediate families may take part or nominate persons.
- Nominees must be residents of the Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM).
- Nominees must be available to attend the gala event on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.
- Nominees must have a contactable telephone number.
- Finalists must be prepared to participate in interviews and filming for use on media platforms.
- Previous winners may not be nominated again.
- Entries close on 21 July 2026 at 16:00. No late entries are accepted.
- Judges have the discretion to move nominee entries to another category if more appropriate.
- Judges have the discretion to remove categories if there are not enough nominees in that specific category.
- The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence regarding it will be entered into.

Three ways to get the entry forms:
- Visit capewinelands.gov.za and click on the Phenomenal Women banner to complete the free nomination form online or to download the entry form.
- Go to the following institutions and get a printed entry form: Any CWDM office or Historium Conference Centre, 11 Pastorie Avenue, Paarl.
- WhatsApp PHENOMENAL WOMAN to 076 017 6026 to receive the form.
