EHPS in Langeberg present a water-wise revolution on wheels!

In response to the ongoing Level 1 water restrictions, the Municipal Health Services in the Langeberg area has launched an innovative water conservation awareness campaign.  This wasn’t your average public service announcement – this is a water-wise revolution on wheels!

On Friday, February 7th, 2025, the Municipal Health Service’s bus was transformed into a mobile water-saving hub, visiting Robertson and Nkqubela. This vibrant, eye-catching bus served as a beacon of information and practical solutions, bringing the message of water conservation directly to residents.

The campaign aimed to maximize impact by distributing educational materials and demonstrating practical water-saving techniques. Environmental Health Practitioners (EHPs) were on hand to answer questions and provide demonstrations, making the experience interactive and engaging. This direct, community-focused approach proved highly effective in raising awareness and promoting responsible water usage.

“This isn’t just a campaign; it’s a community coming together to protect a precious resource.  Langeberg is proving that when it comes to water conservation, action speaks louder than words – and a mobile bus can make all the difference!” expressed Mahlatse Mahlobogoane, EHP in the Langeberg region.

Initial feedback from residents has been positive, indicating a greater understanding of the current water situation and them embracing the challenge to adopt water-saving practices. The campaign has not only educated residents but also inspired them to embrace new, life-changing habits.
