Cllr Minnie Petersen
Rural and Social Development (DA)
Born and raised in the beautiful Valley of Franschhoek in 1959. I matriculated at the age of 48 years old. I have worked at various institutions such as an ECD Teacher and is a qualified Social Auxiliary Worker. In 2005 I worked at The Department of Correctional Services and served on the Parole Board till 2016. In August 2016, I became a full time Councilor in the WC024. Since then, I served as the Chief Whip, 2016 till 2018. In 2018 -2020 I became the Speaker of Council and in 2020 I also served as Deputy Mayor of Stellenbosch Municipality. I am now currently still the ward councilor of ward 2, Stellenbosch Municipality and MMC for Rural and Social Development at Cape Winelands District Municipality. I am passionate about service delivery and uplifting my community is close to my heart.
